What Are Multi-Product Promotions?

Multi-product promotions are offers that require you to purchase more than one product to receive a discount.

Instead of reducing the price of a single item, iHerb encourages customers to combine qualifying products in the same order.

Most of these promotions work automatically—simply add all eligible products to your shopping cart and the discount is applied during checkout. No promo code is required unless the promotion specifically states otherwise.

These promotions generally fall into three categories:

  • Combo Offers
  • Buy One, Get One (BOGO)
  • Product Bundles

Although they all involve purchasing multiple products, they work very differently.

1. Combo Offers

What Is a Combo Offer?

A Combo Offer is iHerb’s “Buy Together and Save” promotion.

Instead of discounting a single product, iHerb recommends purchasing another complementary product together with it.

Examples include:

  • Zinc + Selenium
  • Vitamin D + Magnesium
  • Shampoo + Conditioner
  • Probiotic + Prebiotic

The products are chosen because they naturally complement one another rather than simply because they belong to the same brand.

How Combo Offers Work

When a product participates in a Combo Offer, you’ll usually see a dedicated Combo Offer section directly on the product page. This section recommends another complementary product that can be purchased together at a promotional price.

Below the recommended product, iHerb explains why the two items are paired. In many cases, you’ll also see an AI-generated description describing how the products complement each other—for example, zinc and selenium for immune support or L-arginine and L-citrulline for nitric oxide production.

Example 1 – Zinc + Selenium

Combo offer: Save 25%

In this example, iHerb recommends purchasing NOW Foods Zinc Picolinate together with California Gold Nutrition Selenium. The page highlights a 25% Combo Offer, displays the promotional Combo Price ($15.38), and provides an Add Both to Cart button that automatically adds both qualifying products to your cart.

Example 2 – L-Arginine + L-Citrulline

Combo offer: L-Arginine + L-Citrulline

Here’s another Combo Offer featuring two sports nutrition supplements. iHerb recommends combining L-Arginine with L-Citrulline, explains why these ingredients work well together, and displays a special bundle price. Like all Combo Offers, the discount is applied automatically once both products are added to your cart.

What You’ll Typically See on a Combo Offer

Most Combo Offers include the following elements:

  • A “Combo Offer” label, sometimes showing the percentage you can save (for example, Save 25%).
  • A recommended companion product that qualifies for the promotion.
  • An explanation of why the two products are paired. This is usually an AI-generated informational note and is not medical advice.
  • A Combo Price, showing the promotional price for purchasing both products together.
  • An “Add Both to Cart” button, which adds both qualifying products to your shopping cart and automatically applies the offer.

Are Combo Offers Always Cheaper?

Surprisingly, no.

One of the most important things many shoppers don’t realize is that the displayed Combo Price isn’t always lower than buying the products separately.

Sometimes the bundle simply reflects the current sale prices of both products without providing any extra discount.

Before purchasing, compare:

  • individual product prices;
  • current promotions;
  • combo price.

You may occasionally find that buying the products separately costs exactly the same—or even less.

When Are Combo Offers Worth It?

Combo Offers make the most sense when:

  • you already planned to buy both products;
  • the bundle includes an additional discount;
  • the recommended products naturally work together.

If you only need one of the products, buying the bundle usually isn’t the best value.

2. Buy One, Get One (BOGO)

What Is BOGO?

BOGO stands for Buy One, Get One.

Instead of offering a bundle price, iHerb rewards you for purchasing multiple eligible products by giving you another item free or at a reduced price.

Common examples include:

  • Buy One, Get One Free
  • Buy One, Get One 50% Off
  • Buy One, Get One 80% Off

How BOGO Works

To activate the promotion you must:

  1. Find products participating in the BOGO campaign.
  2. Add at least two eligible products to your cart.
  3. Complete checkout.

The discount is applied automatically.

No promo code is required.

Important BOGO Rules

There are several rules many shoppers overlook.

The cheaper product becomes free

If you purchase:

  • Product A — $50
  • Product B — $30

the $30 item becomes free.

The discount always applies to the lower-priced eligible item.

Only participating products qualify

Not every product from a brand participates.

Eligible products are clearly marked with a BOGO label.

BOGO promotions usually cannot be combined

Unlike Combo Offers, BOGO promotions generally cannot be combined with other promo codes or discounts.

Using another coupon may cancel the BOGO promotion.

BOGO campaigns are temporary

Unlike Brands of the Week or Buy More Save More, BOGO promotions don’t have a permanent page.

Each campaign receives its own landing page that disappears after the promotion ends.

How to Find BOGO Products

The easiest way is to visit the Sales & Deals page and look for the Buy One, Get One banner.

You can also identify participating products by the BOGO label on the product page.

3. Product Bundles

Unlike Combo Offers, Product Bundles are pre-packaged sets sold as a single product listing.

Instead of asking you to add two qualifying products to your cart, iHerb combines several complementary products into one ready-made bundle and offers the entire set at a discounted price. These bundles are created specifically for iHerb and are often available exclusively through the website.

Bundles can include products from the same brand or carefully selected items that fit a particular theme, such as skincare, wellness, beauty, or seasonal gift collections.

Example – iHerb Exclusive Bundle

iHerb Exclusive Bundle

The example above shows the iHerb Exclusive Sunkissed Essentials Kit, an eight-piece beauty set sold as a single product. Instead of purchasing each item separately, customers can buy the complete collection at a significantly reduced price. In this case, the bundle is discounted by 50%, making it much cheaper than buying the included products individually.

How Product Bundles Work

Product Bundles are simple to purchase:

  1. Find a bundle on the iHerb website.
  2. Add the bundle to your cart like any other product.
  3. The discounted price is already included—no promo code or additional steps are required.

Unlike Combo Offers, you don’t need to select multiple products yourself. Everything is packaged as one product listing.

Where to Find Product Bundles

Most exclusive bundles can be found in the iHerb Exclusives section, where iHerb offers curated collections available only on its platform. The selection changes throughout the year and often includes limited-edition gift sets and seasonal collections.

Tips to Maximize Your Savings

Before placing your order:

  • Compare the combo price with individual product prices.
  • Check whether a BOGO promotion can be combined with other discounts.
  • Look for Product Bundles if you already need several complementary products.
  • Always compare the total cost rather than assuming every bundle offers extra savings.
